What do we do?

The Kiama State Emergency Service is a voluntary organisation working within the State Emergency Service Act of 1989 (as amended).

We operate within the Kiama local government area on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

We play the following vital roles in our community:

Lead combat agency for storm and tempest
Lost child
 Lead combat agency for flood
 Accredited road-rescue unit
 Accredited vertical-rescue unit
 Land search
 Rescue from depths

In addition to these roles we also support a large number of  community events  such as the Illawarra Folk Festival and the local Triathlon.
